Ontario plans optional digital credentials
Ontario announced plans to consult on optional digital credentials, beginning with the Ontario Photo Card. It also described plans to protect access to physical identification. Consultation is planned for late 2026; the announcement does not mean that residents can already replace their cards with a new digital service.
